Profile of Dr. Nandita

Dr Nandita Palshetkar is Founder and Medical Director of the Bloom IVF Group, which has provided reproductive medicine services in India for over 28 years.

Bloom IVF Group has 8 centres in India, including Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Delhi, Gurugram and Mohali. It received the Frost & Sullivan India Healthcare Excellence Award in 2013.

Her clinical work has included ICSI (since 1996), laser-assisted hatching (since 1998), spindle check (since 2006), egg freezing and ovarian tissue freezing (since 2007), time-lapse embryo monitoring with Embryoscope (since 2012), and non-invasive preimplantation genetic testing (PGT-A) using DNA from spent culture media with NGS analysis. The first births in India using this non-invasive PGT-A technique were reported in the journal Polymorphism.

Dr Nandita has also done innovative work in the field of Micro TESA and ICSI for Non-Obstructive Azoospermia. She has also introduced the technique of Single Sperm freezing using Sperm Vitrification device.

The first births in India using such vitrified sperms were published in the journal Indian obstetrics and gynaecology. She has also been doing innovative ongoing research in the field of ovarian rejuvenation using PRP and bone marrow stem cells.

Dr. Nandita did her post graduation from GMC Mumbai and went to Gent, Belgium for further training.

Her organizational and leadership skills, her perseverance to serve the society has brought her to the helm of various prestigious organisations.

Dr. Palshetkar is a reputed and popular speaker and has been invited to national and international conferences where she has delivered more than 900 talks. In pursuit of her academic interests, she has contributed more than 100 chapters and papers, edited 25+ books and delivered more than 85+ orations. She has received numerous awards for the exemplary work in the field of women health. She is working with the police families to uplift their health and with adolescent girls of Mumbai for their empowerment. She has started the programme She’s Ambassador with the underprivileged girls of Mumbai to instill leadership qualities & make them the ambassadors of good healthy in their communities. She has played a significant role in setting up various reputed educational institutes which have helped in the empowerment of the youth of India.

She has introduced many modern technologies in India including ICSI in 1996, Laser Hatching in 1998, Egg Freezing and Ovarian Tissue Freezing in 2007, Spindle Check in 2006, Embryoscope in 2012 which was a first in entire Asia and modern Non Invasive Pre Implantation Testing using whole genome amplification of DNA leaked in spent culture media and subsequent NGS analysis for PGT - A. Recently the first births in India using this non invasive PGT -A technique was published in the reputed journal Polymorphism, indeed a landmark achievement.
